Sheffield Hospitals Charity has warned supporters their personal data may have been compromised after a cyberattack on Beacon CRM, a database system used by over 1,000 charities and organisations. The breach was detected on Monday when an unauthorised person accessed parts of Beacon's system and downloaded database backups.

Affected data could include names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, donation records, and Gift Aid information. Payment card details were not stored. No evidence of fraud or misuse has emerged so far.

Chief executive Beth Crackles apologised and confirmed the incident has been reported to the ICO, Charity Commission, and Gambling Commission. Supporters are advised to stay alert for suspicious messages requesting personal information.
