St. Paul, Minnesota, is entering its second week dealing with a "deliberate, coordinated" cyberattack that first hit city systems on July 25. Several online services remain offline, including water bill payments, though 911 and trash services are still running.
Officials are warning residents not to click suspicious links or attachments, as fraudulent invoices posing as city bills are circulating. Mayor Melvin Carter says the risk of personal data exposure is "low," but employee data may have been compromised.
The Minnesota National Guard has been activated to help — a first for the state. No timeline for full recovery has been given.
